After a longgg 9-months wait for the series, I finally received my Freshly Picked Strawberries order from Angelic Pretty!
About Freshly Picked Strawberries
Freshly Picked Strawberries was first released as one of AP's spring collections in 2013. The series was already selling like hotcakes even during the first release and became one of AP's top strawberry print series in history.

This series is seriously super hard to get ever since its release in 2013, not to mention resellers reselling them at a high price on second-hand marketplace. Apparently, there seems to be a hype about this print within the Chinese Lolita community. All the photos on Weibo of the Chinese SS receiving their FPS order is just... impressive...?

I hope this will somehow reduce the reselling price in the second-hand marketplace.
The order production was announced in July 2020 during the summer Laforet Grand Bazaar (if I am not wrong). However, because of the pandemic, the ordering procedure was done through a ballot system and only one store is handling the orders - AP Harajuku store.
AP even allowed up to 50 dresses per individual order with no limitation on smaller accessories and number of entries, which I think they are actually quite confident with the demand for this print to impose such condition. IMO, I think the ballot system is also pretty loose too, as I have not seen anyone losing the ballot. (If there is, please let me know.)
I was super excited when AP announced the order production. It took me a while to decide on the cut and color I should go for. I ended up ordering the shirring jsk and headbow in black after seeing someone wearing the same jsk while walking around Harajuku and fell in love with it instantly

After receiving a notification email from AP, I immediately call up AP Harajuku store to make an appointment to go collect my dress. The dress is beyond everything that I have expected and it's super pretty in real life! The only I regretted is that I did not order every color of it.
According to sources from Weibo, the 2013 release actually has a built-in petticoat, which is the same as the samples AP displayed in their store during the order production term. But AP just decided not to include a built-in petticoat this time due to some issue with quality control. Tbh, I stand with AP on their decision. I found that built-in petticoats sometimes make adjusting the skirt's puffiness a little too difficult, or maybe it's because I only have one petti lol.
The print is super clear and cute too! Definitely the perfect print for a summer coord! I just need to work on getting a straw hat or bag that would match. Seriously, I effing regretted not ordering every colorway of this series. It hurts me so much just by thinking of it urghhh
The flower lace on the neck strap and waist tie is just super delicate and adorable! I believe it has been a while since the last time AP uses cotton lace in their release. Seeing this really reminds me of my first strawberry print dress from AP.
